Tercel DX

 Model of the car:Tercel DX
General comments:This care didn't give me a problem at all until it hit around 120,000 miles. The heads had to be redone. My husband is the do it yourself type so it only cost $250 at the machine shop to have them re-worked. You have to order a special head bolt wrench from from snap-on (they are the only people that carry it, you can't buy it from the dealer) to remove the heads yourself. It took about 2 days worth of work to do the whole thing. The timing belt needs to be replaced every 60,000 miles as regular maintenance. It also runs much better on synthetic oil. It now has 130,000 miles on it and I expect it to be around until atleast 200,000. I would recommend this car to anyone under 5'10'.
What things have gone wrong with the car:little small for tall people, very little head room in back for almost any adult
Previous car:Buick Park Avenue - left me stranded more than onceJeep Wrangler - had to go when kids came alongHyundai Excel - I plead temporary insanityJeep Grand Wagoneer - my husband's greatest joy, a nickle and dime monster to me
