| | Model of the car: | Tercel Le | | | General comments: | I'm writing this review for people on a budget who just want to buy a car outright for a couple of thousand or for the parent wanting to buy a car for the high school student.I've owned a 1982 tercel and got 198,000 miles off it; so i thought i would buy a 1991 tercel outright for about 3500 with 88K miles on it.I changed the oil,had tune-ups etc and had mechanic check it out before i bought it and was comfortable with buying it.Well, year one i had to replace the brakes twice,adjust the ac compressor,CV joints craked and leaked so both had to be replaced,needed new tires,and worst of all 2 valves completely burned out.total repair cost now is around 2500 and needless to say i'm just getting rid of it for 500 and move on.The moral of my story:pay the extra and get a decent prism | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Engine,82 horsepower doesn't cut it,bad suspension,valves,cvs,small tires,factory radio sucked so bad,not enough head room,back seat belts never worked,etc.etc.etc. | | | Previous car: | 1995 Saturn sl2 1987checvy nova |
